Think-aloud is a technique to get inner thoughts in the subjects mind while s/he is performing a language activity. It requires subjects to speak out their inner thoughts. Think-aloud for children is a natural behavior. However, for L2 learners, this technique is unnatural and needs proper training, or it cannot work effectively. Think-aloud example:Guos study P345 RQ: use a think-aloud procedure to investigate to what extent L1 is involved in students picture composition.
