The secondary fissure, located on the upfau lted block of them ajor fissure, has the normal fau lt propertyw ith north dip and north downthrow n, andmerges into themajor fis- sure w ith Y-shaped distribution at depth 300-500m in Quaternary system. The secondary fissure lies on 50-120m south to the major fissure on the ground generally w ith them icro depression geomorphology. In view of the seism ic sections, there are a few fissures betw een themajor and secondary fissures and them compose a fracture zone. The developm ent causes of the secondary fissure are interpreted from the regional tecton ic stress filed and self-gravity stress filed, and they are verified by the previous smi u lation test and the real cases show n on the ground surface. A ccord ing to the ground investigations, on the secondary fissurew ell-developed sections, its north major fissures are mi m ature or in potential status.
