奥运英语征文演讲稿--Green Olympic----Our Hope 奥运英语征文演讲稿--Green Olympic----Our Hope Good morning, Ladies and gentlemen! I am from Yanqing No. 1 High School. Today Im very glad to be here to share with you some of my thoughts on Green Olympics. Five years have passed since BEijing was awarded the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games. Now we are looking forward to the coming of the games. You know, this is the first time for BEIjing, our capital, to host such important games. To host the Olympics is especially important to the Chinese people because China?s population covers almost one-fifth of the population of the whole world. Green Olympics is one of the Three Themes of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Our government has taken measures and made a great effort to realize this aim. Everyone can see that great changes have taken place in Beijing: dozens of overpasses appearing, new gyms and stadiums being under construction, and many streets taking on a new look with more trees and grass on both sides. We can say that much work has been done to provide good conditions for the 2008 Olympic Games. We are trying our best to make Beijing cleaner, greener and more beautiful. But before that big day comes, we still have many things to do. For example, pollution controls, water protection, cultural improvement, people?s behavior, security and anti-terrorism drills. As a high school student, I think we should start by doing what we can in order to make the Games a big success. Ladies and gentlemen, please keep our theme in mind---Green Olympics. Good environment is a must to a successful sports game, for nice environment to athletes is what clean water is to fish. If everyone contributes to the coming Olympic Games, we will make Beijing a city green and suitable for the Olympic Games, we will make the 2008 Olympic Games a best in history, and we will make our dream come true.
