Th ismodel isused to pred ict 1D flood process caused by an in stantaneous total dambreak, and comparew ith the analytic solutions of the problem. And th ismodel is also used to predict a 2D flood evolution process caused by the instantaneous partial dambreak, and the smi u lating resu ltsw ere analyzed qualitatively. The computed resu lts indicate that this model is fairly effective on smi ulating dambreak flood w aves.
