Methods One hun- dred and five senile cataracts after phacoemulsificat ion were included. Corneal edema was categorized into grades 0 to 4. Endot helial densit ies at various locations of the cornea w ere measured with specular m-i croscopy before and three months after surgery. Results T he corneal endothelial cell loss rate w as 416% , 14. % , 40. 8% , 67. 0% and 84.4% in eyes w ith corneal edema from grades 0 to 4, respectively .
