In order to avo id seriou s deform ation of the power cab le tunnel, mon itoring m ea su rem en t p lan isworked ou t. Convergence mon itoring and lin ing su rface stre ssmon i toring are m ade for the tunnel and the mon itoring re su lts are analyzed. The mon itoring re su lt show s that although the con struction of the h ighrise bu ilding above the tunnel ha s som e influence on the tunnel, the deform ation of the su rrounding ground of the tunnel is sm all, the convergence slow down when the h ighrise bu ilding is topp ed ou t and the crown settle m en t of the tunnel is larger than the horizon tal converg
