The resu lt mi p lies that the isoline o f PGA ism ore smi ilar to the isoseism a l than the iso line of PGV. The m athem at ical analysis g ives the sam e result, w hich indicates that com pared to PGV, PGA can re flect the dam- age po tentia l of brittle structures better because m ost o f the structures destroyed in this earthquake are brittle struc- tures w ith low periods. Though PGV has som e relat ionship w ith the dam age to structures the dam age capability it re- flects is less than the one reflected by PGA.
