Diploma Programme in Human Resource Management
Introduction
The global economy is complex and companies are always in competition with each other. In order to perform well,
many organisations aim at raising their returns by exploring new business opportunities, minimizing expenses and fully
utilising their limited resources. Human resource is the most valuable and unique asset which represents one of the
largest investments in an organisation. Effective management of human resource is vital because it can enhance staff
productivity and efficiency, and help to strengthen organisational performance.
This Programme is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills to those who are interested in human
resource management and to increase the expertise of practitioners in this field. It integrates academic and practical
aspects of human resource management and aims at providing participants with up-to-date knowledge, skills,
techniques and training which will enable them to make wise decision in managing and developing human resource in
the ever-changing business environment.
Objectives
The objectives of this Programme are:
(a) To provide fundamental and comprehensive knowledge and skills to participants who are interested to develop their
career in human resource management; and
(b) To equip existing practitioners with up-to-date knowledge and all-rounded practical skills and techniques in human
resource management with a view to further developing their career, and preparing them for further studies in the
related discipline.
Programme Duration and Structure
This Programme consists of 9 modules with a total of 288 contact hours. Participants will take about 15 months to
complete the Programme by part-time study mode.
