1.On Christmas Day, Pauls elder brother gave him a new car as the present. One day before Christmas Day, Paul walked out of his office and saw a boy walking around his new car, touching it with admiration. 2. Paul looked at the boy with interest. From his clothes, his family didnt belong to the class. Just then, the boy looked up and asked, “Is the car yours, sir?” 就在这时,小男孩抬起头,问道:“先生,这是你的车吗?” 3.“Yes,” answered Paul, “Its the Christmas present from my brother.” The boy opened his eyes wide, “You mean you received it from your brother?” The boy said, “Oh. I wish ...” Paul thought he knew the boys wish -- to have a car like that. However, the boy said, “I wish I were such a brother.” 5.Looking at the boy, Paul was deeply moved. He asked, “Do you want to have a ride in my new car?” The boy agreed with a great pleasant surprise. 6.After a while, the boy turned to Paul, “Sir,would you mind driving the car to my house?” Paul smiled. He thought he knew the boys thought -- going home in a big and beautiful car to show off before his friends. But he was wrong. 7.“Would you mind stopping at the steps and waiting for me?” The boy got out of the car and ran into a room. After a while, he walked out with a boy, who was his younger brother. The boy was lame in one foot because of poliomyelitis. 8.He put his brother on the step and sat next to him. Then he pointed at Pauls car, “Can you see? It is beautiful, isnt it? That is his Christmas present his brother gave him. One day I will give you a car the same a
