PEP 5 Unit 1 B Let’s learn Zhao Xuhong Aims: Ss can listen, say, read and write the words in Let’s learn. Ss can use these words to describe their friends correctly. Ss can finish the exercises in Match and say. Emphasis and difficult points: Ss can say and use the say the new words. Ss can read and write the words with the rules of phonics. Ss can describe their friends with these words. Teaching aids: PPT Teaching steps: Steps Suggestions Step 1 Warm-up Free talk between T and Ss. Who’s your Chinese teacher? What’s he/she like? Who is John’s new Chinese teacher? Is she kind? etc. 2. Revise the dialogue in Let's talk. 在课前几分钟适当回顾前一节课的内容,帮助学生更好地巩固并自然进入本课时学习。 Step2 Presentation and Practice T says: Ms Wang will be John’s new Chinese teacher. One morning, John met Ms Wang at school. PPT shows a dialogue between John and Ms Wang. T asks: What’s John like? Teach the word polite. Game: A polite kid will say. Ss try to say the sentences like: A polite kid will say “please”. etc. T says: You’re polite kids. How about Sarah? Let’s have a look. PPT shows a dialogue between Sarah and Miss Green. Teach the word helpful. PPT shows some pictures, Ss try to look and say: ___ is helpful. Then the pictures disappear, Ss try to tell who is helpful again. Teach the word clever. PPT shows a question, Ss think it over. T helps Ss find out the reason and say: Wu Yifan is hard-working. Teach the word hard-working. Game: Fill in the blanks and chant. PPT shows a chant about be and hard-working, Ss try to fill the right form of be, then chant together. Ss try to spell some words, at last try to read the word shy. 通过对话中John有礼貌的表现使学生自然感知polite的意义,并获得更深刻理解。 在课堂中适当渗透礼仪教育,并同时更好地练习生词polite。 帮助学生发现help 与helpful之间的联系,初步感知构词法。 通过看图描述进一步感受并操练helpful一词,图片消失之后的回忆训练学生记忆能力并通过这有挑战的小活动引出clever一词。 在本课时适当渗透be动词的用法。 Step 3 Consolidation and Extension 1.
