高电压技术第 38卷第 12期 2012年 12月 31日 3146 H ighVoltageEngineering，Vo1．38，No．12，December31，2012 OvervoltageandInsulationCoordinationforValve W indingof4-800kV UHVDC ConverterTransformer zHOU Peihong．DAIMing．HE Huiwen (ChinaElectricPowerResearchInstitute，W uhan430074，China) Abstract：Thedeterminationofinsulationlevelsforvalvewindingsof± 800kV UHVDC convertertransformersisa kevDrob1em fordesigningandmanufacturingoftheconvertertransformers．BasedontheYunnan-Guangdong ±800 kVDCDowertransmissionproject，theattesterparametersfordirectorindirectprotectionofthevalvewindingsare selected．TheEMTDC Drogram isusedtocalculateseveralfaults，which determinemainly thespecifiedinsulation levelsofvalvewindingfortemporary，switchingandlightningimpulses，andtheovervohagegeneratnigmechanisms accordingtothesefaultsareanalyzed．Thepolarityreversalovervohageandtherelatedreversaltimeatvalvewindings causedbvtheemergency switch offsequenceofconverters (ESOF)arecalculated toconfirm thenecessityofDC vOltagepolarityreversa1typetestsofvalvewindings．Thereasonabilityofthethreeinsulationcoordinationmethods， whichdetermineconvertertransformers’switchingimpulseinsulationlevels，isanalyzed．Method1isconcludedtobe morereasonable，anditisused todeterminetheswitching impulsewithstandvoltage (SIWV)from theswitching overvohagecalculationresults．Thelightningimpulsewithstandvoltage(LIWV)ofvalvewindingscanbedetermined bvtheratiobetweenLIW V andSIW V．Theprincipleoftheratioselection ispresented，anditisusedtodetermine theLIWV．TheoperationexperienceofYunna Guangdong 土800kV DC projecthasproventhatthepresented insulation levelsisappropriate． Keywords：±800kV UHVDC convertertransformer；valvewinding；temporaryovervoltage；switchingovervolt
