Methods in digital subtraction technique (DSA) under the supervision of 15 adult dogs underwent selective angiography of spinal cord, with 4 different sizes of embolic agents, lumbar artery embolization of spinal cord artery, the neurology, pathology and imaging evaluation method. The small particles of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, diameter of 118 ~ 154 m) is the most serious embolism caused by spinal cord ischemia infarction, showing double hindlimb muscle reduced to 0 ~ 1 grade, two incontinence; embolization of spinal cord and severe necrosis; MRI T1 weighted images of spinal cord thickening, T2 weighted images appear obvious high signal. Conclusion the intervertebral artery method can effectively prepare the animal model of acute SCII, is a kind of experimental and clinical research in alternative practical methods.
