State Key Laboratory of Vehicle NVH and Safety Technology, Chongqing 401120, China) Abstract :A rigid-flexible coupling model for torsional vibration analysis of a rear-drive transmission system is established using multi-body dynamic theory. Natural frequencies and modes of the torsional vibration are calculated for each transmission gear of the transmission system. The system frequencies which influence the transmission rattle are analyzed and verified by NVH testing. The harmonic responses and forced vibration are analyzed and the results are verified by the system ’s torsional vibration testing. The bending modes for the transfer shaft system are calculated by a modal synthesis method. The result is compared with that by finite element method, and both results are
