Nonetheless, archaeological discoveries clearly show that the layout of the capital city ob- served the traditional rule and consisted of an inner city or palatial city and an outer town. The palatial city was situated within the - south western part of the outer town surrounded by a moat and enclosed by a single town wall. It is also of interest to note that the layout of the capital changed over the course of time.
