International migration has experienced some major new developments in terms of its total scale , direction of flow , rate of flow , and total amount . Many countries and international organizations increasingly attach importance to the migration issue . The focus of migration research has been gradually shifted from the receiving countries to the sending countries and from the negative aspects to the positive aspects.
