It is found that static mantle convection models ( The ef fects of the earth ’s rotation or differential rotation is not included) could be well fit some surface observations such as gravity and geoid anomalies , but it is difficult to interpret some global geologic features such as the asymmetry of the 0°and 180°hemisphere . Therefore , a possible way to develop the theory of mantle convection in the future is recommended.
