OPTIMAL OPERATION OF BACK-PRESSURE UNITS FOR SPACE HEATING

ABSTRACT:Due to the huge thermal mass of building s and dis- 。
trict heating netw ork, room temperatures of the buildings do ,
not change much w hen heat output from the heat source varies
o n a large scale during a day .T herefore, back pressure units ,
can vary its power output during a day to match the power de- ,
mand by v arying the heat output with the space heating quality ,
not decreased.In this paper, the optimal operation of back-
pressure units is studied.The system for study consists of a DH ,
network, an electrical utility grid and a CHP plant in which on- 。
ly back-pressure units are considered.Optimal operation model [2],
is obtained by achieving two objectives that the custo mers
space heating requirements are met and the profit of the CHP ,
plant is maximized.T hen, an alg orithm is given for the model ,
and numerical results for a specific case are derived. 。
