Emplo ying a standard test method fo r evaluating the tox icity of chemicals to algae, the toxic effects of lan
thanides on Chlorella autotrop hica were inv est igated. T he results showed that concentration fo r 50% reduc
tion ( EC50 ) of 12 kinds of lanthanide compounds in C. autotrop hica g rowth were all 29 . 00 0 . 50 mol L- 1
after 96h culture at 25 1 ! . Chi square test of each doseresponse equations showed that 96hEC50 calculat
ed w er e all precise and credible. t could be concluded that the biolo gical tox icity of lanthanides on the gr owth
of C. autotrop hica were the same, which was of importance for the clarification of lanthanides eco to xic ef
fects.
