Conclusion Abstract There are two different strategies in translation: domestication and foreignization, and the debates over domestication and foreignization have been one of the hottest topics in translation circle for a long time. Domestication is target-culture-oriented translation in which the unusual expressions are turned into familiar ones so as to make the translated texts acceptable and easy to understand for the target readers. While foreignization is source-culture-oriented translation which intends to preserve the original cultural and linguistic diversity so as to retain the foreignness of the source culture. As a professional branch of translation, legal translation has an important place in translation. This paper focus on the application of domestication and foreignization in legal translation by exemplification and analysis. In the author’s view, we should apply domestication, or foreignization, or both domestication and foreignization properly in accordance with specific cases in our future legal translation. Whatever, it is of significance to choose the two different translation strategies—domestication and foreignization correctly and precisely. Key words: domestication; foreignization;legal translation 摘要 对于翻译，有两种不同的策略，归化与异化。而且关于这两种翻译策略的争论一直是翻译界长久以来的热点之一。归化翻译是以目的语文化为归宿的翻译方法，即运用目的语文化易于接受的表达法，使译文更通俗易懂，更适合于目的语读者。异化翻译指以源语文化为归宿的翻译方法，即尽力再现原文以便更好地保留源语文化的异国情调。作为翻译领域里一个非常专业化的分支，专业的法律翻译是极其重要的。本文从大量的实例出发，对比分析法律翻译中归化与异化在不同情况下的应用，从文章可以看出，我们在今后的翻译过程中，应根据具体的情况采取适当的归化和异化翻译，或者两者兼而有之.无论如何，做到准确把握翻译策略的选择
