Every means has been tried but without much result. （名词means词every修饰数义谓语动词须用单数 b. These works have been closed since the beginning of this year due to the strike of the workers.（名词works词these修饰数义谓语动词须用数 　 c. Are/ Is there any other means of solving the problem?（动词are或is，因any other后既可以接单数词数词are表示其它方法，也可以用is表示和现对d. Our TV series are much better than those of Japan.（本句中series是泛指，与句中those相呼应以动词数 注意：a series of 　　此短语“一系列”，后面跟复数词语“同一种类”谓语动词单数语“不同种类”谓语动词数 例：a. A series of wet days spoils our holiday.（wet days表示“阴雨”，属同种类谓语动词了单数 b. His glasses are very expensive. b. One pair of scissors is not enough. 1.1.4 集合名词词单数数动词这决强调点强调时单数谓语强调这个员时数谓语这样词family (家庭、家庭成员)class（班级级员）people（民族、人民）, staff（全体职员、军队参谋员）, crew队员、船员、组员等）, crowd, group（组, public（公众 例：a. Our class is a very good class. (此句中class作整体，意思是“班级”) b. The class are watching a football match in the playground. （此句中class作个“班级员” c. Chinese people is a great people. (此句中people作整体，意思是“民族”。) d.
