barrett食管临床表现和诊断（The clinical manifestations and diagnosis of Barretts esophagus） The complication of Barrett is GERD esophagus Barrett esophagus (BE) is a pathological phenomenon in which the stratified squamous epithelium of the distal esophagus is replaced by a single columnar epithelium, also called the lower columnar epithelium of the esophagus Barrett esophagus (BE) is a pathological phenomenon in which the stratified squamous epithelium of the distal esophagus is replaced by a single columnar epithelium, also called the lower columnar epithelium of the esophagus. Because it was first proposed by the famous British surgeon Dorman Barrett, the lesion was later named after him. BE is common in Europe and North America, and Asians and blacks are rare. Adenocarcinoma of the esophagus is more common in western countries than in squamous cancer. In Western Europe in recent 30 years, the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma has increased by 8 times, and the rate of increase is higher than that of any kind of solid tumors. Adenocarcinoma of the esophagus is also on the rise in asia.
