The tip to face control of coalw allw as realized by the top coal control and w ater injections to the shallow borehole of the coal m ining w all. W ith the lab smi ulation and the m ine site techn ique expermi ent, the top coal caving technique w ith the wt o coalm ining passing and one top coal caving operation and themulti sequence top coal caving w as set up. The coal spontaneous combustion in the goaf during the face m in ing period cou ld be effectively prevented and controlled w ith the buried tube grouting, the gel grouting at the top and bottom corners of the coalm ining face, and other compre hensive fire prevention and controlmeasures.
