Ecological secu ity is defined as the goal of stakeholde s to c eate a condition whe e the phy sical su oundings of a community p ovide fo the needs of its inhabitants without diminishing its natu al stock.Recently, the study of eco logical secu ity is mainly on the national and egional levels, and focus on landscape o ientatio n compa ison.T he study of u ban ecological secu ity is little, but it is the basis and co e of national and egio nal ecological secu ity .T his pape analyzed and efe enced the methodology of egio nal ecological secu ity assess- ment, taking Beij ing as an example.T he eco logical secu ity situations and t ends at time scale (1996～ 2002) w e e analyzed,with suggestio ns on the management of u ban ecological secu ity .
