School of Environmental Science and Engineering, North China Electric Power University,Baoding 071003, China) Abstract: The accurate measurement of static contact angle is important to study the hydrophobicity of HT V (high temperature vulcanization) silicone rubber and RT V ( room temperature vulcanization) silicone rubber. After obtai ning the globule edge point manually, the least square algorithm was used to fit the globule edge according to the rule that the globule edge is round if the globule only volume is small. Then, the LevenbergM arquardt algorithm was used to calculate the least square, its principle was introduced. The formula used by the fitting procedure was deduced by theory, and the program was implemented. T he left and right side static contact angle was obtained ac cording to tangent principle, and the average value was thefinal static contact angle.
