Methods A total of 20 000 wome were i volved i this study . Cervical samples were take by a cervical brush. Mo olayer of cells were deposited o to microscopic slides by liquidbased sampli g preparatio . Two slideswere prepared from each case: o e slide was stai ed by Papa icolaou stai for co ve tio al cytology exami atio , while the other slide was stai ed by Feulge method for determi atio of amou t of DNA usi g a automated DNA imagi g cytometry. Results All cases of LSIL, HSIL a d ca cer de cided by co ve tio al cytology a d all cases with DNA amou t greater tha 5C ( DNA I dex 25) cells decided by automated DNA imagi g cytometry were se t to colposcopy a d biopsy. A total of 1016 wome were followed by colposcopic exami atio where biopsies were take . The se sitivity of 82% at specificity of 71% were calculated for DNA qua titative cytology a d se si tivity of 52% at 92% specificity for co ve tio al cytology.
