ver.02 eco Manager Quick Start Guide for Windows Vista/XP/2000 This software lets you put your DriveStation/MiniStation into sleep mode to save power. Its recommended for hard drives that are not accessed for periods of time. eco Manager works with Windows PCs connected to the DriveStation/MiniStation with either a USB or FireWire (IEEE1394) connection. In “Sleep” mode, the drives access LED will still be on, and the products icon will still be displayed in My Computer. You can: ● PutyourharddriveintoSleepmode,reducingpowerconsumptionimmediately. ● PutyourharddriveinSleepmodeafteraspecifiedperiodofinactivity. ● Usethisutilitywithmorethanoneharddrive. Installation 1 Run DriveNavi.exe from the DriveStation/MiniStation. The installation wizard will open. 2 Click [Begin Installation]-[Additional Software Installation}- [ecoManager]. 3 Eco Manager for HD will be installed and enabled. 1 Notes: ■ for all Windows PCs ● DonotputaharddriveintoSleepmodewhiletheaccessLEDonthedriveisblinking. ● TouseecoManagerwithmorethanoneharddrive,installitseparatelyfromthediskthat camewitheachdrive.TheecoManagersoftwareisdifferentforeachproduct,soyoumust installitseparatelyforeachproduct. ’ Foreasyidentificationofeachofyourharddrives,itsrecommendedthatyougiveavolume labelsuchas“buffalo”toyourharddrive. ■ for Windows Vista ● Awarningmessagescreenmaybedisplayed whenbootingorrestartingyourPC.
