This shows that books as spiritual food has much educational enlightenment. As a carrier of characters and graphics, books cannot be tied up. Book binding is a harmonious unity, it should be said that what kind of book has what kind of binding, and adapt to it. In our country, the book binding design is usually called the whole design of books or the art design of books. Cover design plays an important role in the overall design of a book. The book meets the reader, and the first round depends on the cover. The cover is the face of a book, a silent salesman. A good cover design can not only attract readers, make it fall in love at first sight, but also attract much attention and fondle admiringly. The pros and cons of the cover design have a great significance to the social image of books. Therefore, as an art teacher in vocational school, I have made some preliminary discussions on the cover design of books. Cover design generally includes the title of the book, the editors name, the name of the press and other text, as well as the embodiment of the books content, nature, genre of decorative images, colors and composition. First, the conceptual design of the cover: First of all should be established in the form of service form for the book, with the most moving, the most vivid, the most easily accepted by the visual manifestations, so it was important to cover the idea, we should fully understand manuscript content, style, genre, to the novel, relevant, infectious. The process and method of conception can be roughly divided into the following methods: 1, imagine: Imagination is the basis of conception. Imagination centers on the perception of shape
