In this paper, the basic meanings of nat ral reso rces base for rbanization is expo nded at the beginning, that is, the conflict between s pply and demand for reso rces is the internal drives for r- banization;reso rces scarcity and s bstit tion becomes stronger as rbanization is developing;nat ral reso rces base with diversity in kind and ab ndance in amo nt constit tes the f ndamental g arantee for s stainable development of rbanization.Then, the three types of rbanization are en merated in terms of the action mechanism that nat ral reso rces base imposes on rbanization.The first kind
