Cytokinin application was carried either by temporary immersion or by medium addition in order to stimulate the axillary bud elongation. No matter what kind of stimulation the seedling explants received, they would produce more axillary bud from intact or less segmented specimens. 6- benzylaminopurine(BAP) and kinetin(KT) were equally effective to induce bud production when using immersion method. But BAP at a higher concentration (100 mg/l) inhibited bud elongation. When using medium addition method (BAP 1 mg/l in GD-1 medium), the better treatment duration was determined at about 30-45 days.
