In view of the updating theories and techniques, extension of research targets and changes in thinking, economic zones and urban geological work are confronted with new problems. By using the geological work of Guanzhong Urban Agglomeration as an example, this paper reviewed the connotation and location of urban geology and urban geological work, and confirmed the survey tasks and research contents, and the put forwards the working ideas and technique routes. It also presented deployment schemes of corresponding scales for different survey tasks and serious levels of issues needing to be tackled with.
