The notable change of n itrogen input is resulted from human activity, w hich smi u ltaneously caused forest decline and some environmental problems after industrial revolu- tion. H ence study on nitrogen storages and its input has become one of the hot spots at present. Th is paper summ arizes the advances in the research on n itrogen storage and each n itrogen input ap- proach, namely, b iological nitrogen fixation, atmospheric nitrogen deposition, litter decomposition, litter return and fertilization, through collecting a lot of domestic and overseas research reports.
