Methods the flavonoids were extracted from onion by the pure physical process and ultraviolet spectrophotometry, and the flavonoids were tested. Results the content of total flavonoids in the sample was C=4.84%. The recovery was 99.4%, and its purity and yield were higher. Conclusion the method is a complete physical process without any chemical changes and pollution. It is an effective way to extract flavonoids from onion. Key words: onion; total flavonoids; extraction; identification Extraction, and, Distinguishing, of, the, Total, Flavone, from, Onion Abstract:ObjectiveIn order to make use of the resources of onion, avoid wasting, approach the extraction of total flavone of onion.MethodsUsing purely physical process flow and spectrophotometry to extract and check the flavone of onion.ResultsBy this method getting the contents of the total flavone of onion is the rate of recovery 4.84% and is 99.4% with high outpat and purity.ConclusionThis method is a pure physical process, and has not any chemical change and pollution. It is an ideal way to extract the flavone of onion.
