The role of teachers in Web-based English Teaching

Network English teaching model refers to the modern remote education mode, which uses computer and Internet to process, make and realize the remote transportation. Network English teaching program learner centered dispersion, individual autonomous learning mode of education, teachers teach students in the learning process. This changes the dominant position of teachers in teaching, so that teachers from teaching to learning, the role of teachers from pure knowledge to participants and information consultation of learners learning organizer, emotional supporter and learning. This is not a denial of the teachers role, but a strengthening of the teachers guiding learning role. Online English teachers should change their educational concepts in a timely manner, master and apply modern educational technology, and constantly update their knowledge in order to adapt themselves to the needs of a learning society. This paper gives a brief understanding of the role of teachers in Web-based English teaching.
I. multiple roles of teachers in Web-based English Teaching
Compared with traditional classroom teaching, internet teaching is free from fixed pattern, fixed space and fixed time. It provides full time and space for teachers and students to communicate independently and freely. In the open learning mode, the role of knowledge source in teacher role will be replaced by network partly. Teachers can reflect the role of teachers in real schools and in virtual networks, so teachers roles are multiple.
