1, the concept of sustainable development is one of the important contents of geography teaching in middle school
There are two recognized characteristics of Geography: one is comprehensiveness, and two is regional. The geography classroom teaching, should make students aware of the research object of geography is a physical system, the physical system is a comprehensive, diverse, interrelated and mutual restraint, a discipline of all elements of geography is the study of the physical system and its internal relations as well as the relationship between human activities and geographical environment; it should be let the students realize the geographical environment function is comprehensive, for example, a resource rich basin, for the production and life of people, it is the function of many aspects (tourism, water resources, mineral resources, climate, aquaculture and so on). The development and utilization of environment in the basin, it is necessary to make a comprehensive study, selected the best scheme; should make students aware of the global environment is a whole, but due to various regions in different position, by internal and external force is not uniform, and there is a regional difference. Finally, we should further make students clear in any area of environmental factors are interrelated, in regional evolution, changes of the various elements of the mutual influence, the development and utilization of the area should be comprehensive, development of the related areas also affect each other.
