A ReA Reflfl ection on Dif ection on Diffifi culties in China’s Acquisition of a Full Market Economy Status culties in China’s Acquisition of a Full Market Economy Status in the WTOin the WTO LI Xue-ping (Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei 430072, China) Abstract:Abstract: According to Chinas Accession Protocol, Chinas non-market economy (NME) status in the WTO will be terminated in December 2016. However, different interpretation for its graduation clause will bring about various effects, and, there is no defi nite rule(s) about the scope and application of the national law of importing WTO members within the WTO agreements, while, there exists a deviation of the WTO legal support on the relation between dumping and NME with the DSBs fi ndings about the nature of Chinas NME treatment in the related case. Such fl exible and ambiguous factors require China to plan ahead instead of only waiting for a possible positive effect given by time to response to some possible more complicated situation against NME status raised by other WTO members.
