Based on a smi ple interaction energ bewt een molecu les and the approx mi ation ofm ean-field theor , order param eters of equ ilibrium state as functions of reduced temperature, and phase diagram s in the p lane ofm olecu lar structure and temperature are obtained. The resu lts show that the phase transition temperatures are related to the elastic strength of flex ible chain k and ratio of tw o arm s length r. When k 0, or k 0 but |k | r, as the tem perature decrea- ses, s stem undergoes a first order transition from isotrop ic phase to un iax ial phase. W hen k 0, r 1 and |k | r, s s- tem has a first order phase trans ition from isotrop ic to uniax ial phase, then a second order phase transition from un iax ial to biax ial phase. When |k | continues to increase, the first orderw ill change into aw eak first order or a con tinuous tran- s ition. When k 0
