Hydroelectrical Investigation, Design and Research Institute, CHECC, Kunming 650051, China) Abstract: The stator bar transpositions of large hydrogenerators are difficult due to the features of short bar length, few flexibility and small transposition pitch of the strands. A new idea of mixed transposition and 3 different new transposition methods, including deficient 360º extended transposition, deficient 360º void transposition and 360º void extended transposition, are proposed respectively in this paper. The interrelated theoretic analysis and calculation are carried out. The purpose of the research is to give some valuable hints for improving the design and manufacture of the stator bars of large hydrogenerators.
