The apoptotic cell death was detected by TUNEL assay, and Chemiluminescence and Western blotting methods were used to detect the activity of Caspase-8, Caspase-9 or Caspase-3/7. Cellular immunofluorescene method was used to detect changes of Bax/Bcl- 2. Results showed that PS led to obvious apoptotic of L1210 cells, improved the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and activated Caspase-9 and Caspase-3. But it showed little effect on Caspase-8. This research indicated the activation of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway in response to the treatment of L1210 cells with PS.
