First, classic Harris corner de tecting algorithm is introduced, then it is improved to solve its disa dva nta ge of imprecise point location: fitting the surfa ce of corner response function and evalua ting pea k location of the fitted surfa ce to check the subpixel corner loca tion. Finall , this algorithm is a pplied to geometric qua lit assessment s stem of remote sensing ima ge, a nd is compared to traditional surface fitting extremum algorithm. The experimenta l results show t hat this a lgorithm can accuratel express the a berration of geomet ric qua lit between original image and compressed one. So, it ca n be used into qualit a ssessment s stem of aerial remote sensing ima ge compression.
