Methods: To study 636 patients with prostatic hyperplasia in two-year period for 2010-2011, Random patients after TURP surgery into the experimental group and the control group. Use polyethylene glycol 4000 powder drugs to prevent constipation for the experimental group rather than he control group on one day after surgery. Through the statistical analysis the relationship between polyethylene glycol (peg) 4000 powder drugs and postoperative bleeding after TURP. Result The data shows that use of polyethylene glycol (peg) 4000 drugs to patients after TURP surgery with no obvious improvement of postoperative bleeding, compared with control groups, the experimental group hospitalized for more than 2.5 days. Conclusion Use polyethylene glycol 4000 drugs to prevent constipation after TURP surgery, couldn’t reduce the incidence of postoperative bleeding.
