[Abstract] Objective To observe the impact of two different doses of Atorvastatin on serum lipids, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) and coronary plaque by 64-slice CT. Methods Forty eight patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), who were detected by 64-slice CT within one month after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), were randomly assigned into intensive statins group (Atorvastatin 40 mg/d + regular medication) and convention statins group (Atorvastatin 20 mg/d + regular medication) with TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, hs-CRP, coronary plaque type and size examined simultaneously. The above indicators were reviewed after 12 months of follow up. Results After treatment of 12 months, the levels of TC, TG, LDL-C, and hs-CRP in both groups were lowered compare with the levels before treatment (P0.05); the CT values of lipid and fibrous plaque area of patients in both groups were increased compared to the previous data with more significant change of intensive statins group (P0.05). Conclusion Application of 64-slice CT can qualitatively and quantitatively detect changes of coronary plaque; intensive treatment of
