Methods Literatures on H DGC w hich were pu lished in recent years were collect ed and analyzed. Results A errant CDH1 gene is significantly correlated w ith H DGC: mutations of CDH 1 exons play the most important role in pathogenesis of HDGC. Screening CDH1 gene mutation is useful for diagnosis of HDGC as w ell as the t reatment s. Alterations of CDH 1 other than exon mutation, such as int ron mutation, gene promoter met hylation and single nucleotide polymorphism may result in dow nregulat ion of the gene expression.
