On the w indw ard slope of the Taihang Mountains, the type of debris flow belongs to heavy storm type. T he main - feature of debris flow is that the rock collapse and the landslide translated into debris flow fleetly under the heavy storm . On Aug . 14, 1999, the disastrous debris flow developed in the Xiawacha valley , Pingshan county, Hebei Province. It destroyed the Xiaw acha village that is located at the mouth of valley and 26 . , people died On the basis of field investigation the authors w anted to record the process of debris flow - . verily and built the individual record of debris flow The purpose is to study developing regularity of regional debris flow and put forw ard the prevention plan finally .
