Methods Netty stent place ment was perfor med on 42 cases of BPH , and the patients were foll o wed up for 6 mont hs . Re- sults The stent was successfully pl acedi n all 42 cases . I mmediate vol untary uri nati on after stent pl ace ment was obtai ned i n 39 cases , but after pl ace ment of anot her stent i n other 2 cases due to too l arge t he hypertrophy of the prostate and el ongated and bended of t he prostati c part of uret hra . Of the re mai n case , the stent shifted do wnward and enuresis happened after the pl ace ment . A t otal of 300 ml col d water wit h t he temperature bel ow 4 ℃was i nj ected via t he urethra , and t he stent was ad- j usted upward wit h a bi opsy forceps cla mpi ng the distal end of it through t he uret hra under the supervisi on of fl uoroscopy , and t hen nor mal uri nati on res umed . The score of livi ng quality was 0 - 3 wit h 38 cases . Pre- vs post-operation , t he i nterna- tional prostate sy mpto mscore (I PSS) was l o wered fro m 28 .6 ±6 .2 t o 3 .2 ( P 0 .00 1) , average fl o wrate ( AFR) i ncreased fro m ( 6 .8 ±3 .2) ml/ s to ( 13 .6 ±4 .8) ml / s ( P 0 .00 1) and resi dual uri ne vol u me ( RUV) decreased fro m ( 156 ±23 .4) ml to ( 60 .3 ±26 .5) ml ( P 0 .001) with t he post-operative f oll o w- up
