At present,there arethree kindsof catwalkwhich areproducedby companies at home and abroad:lifting catwalk,mechanical arm processing system and translational catwalk. Lifting catwalk operates smoothly and reliably,and it is security and small land occupation,but complicated structure. Mechanical arm pro鄄 cessing systemisfastinprocessingspeed,itishighefficiencybutthecontrol systemneedsstability anditsmanufacturingcost is expensive. Translational catwalk isthe most widely used at present,which is simple structured and easy to be maintained, and it could carry equipments into the drilling platform. Now the translational catwalk has two constructions,which would be contrastively analyzed in this paper.
