He insisted that he had done it right. The man insisted that he didn’t steal the lady’s purse, and that he be set free at once. (2) She can be really stubborn. 她有时候会非常固执。 stubborn (adj.): determined not to change one’s opinion or attitude; or difficult to deal with. She can be as stubborn as a mule. He was too stubborn to admit his mistakes. a stubborn cough/ problem ★此句中can表示潜在的可能性，即某事现在或将来可能会发生，如： Data of this kind can be valuable. Lightening can be dangerous. (3) It becomes rapids as it passes through deep valleys, tavelling across western Yunnan Province. 它穿过深谷时就变成了急流，流经云南省的西部。 valley （n.）: an area of low land between hills He lives in a valley named Happy Valley. (4) As it enters Southeast Asia, its pace slows. 而当它进入东南亚以后，流速减缓。 pace n.: the speed at which sb/sth walks, runs or moves I prefer the relaxed pace of life in the countryside. Part 2 (5) Along the way children dressed in long wool coats stopped to look at us. 一路上，一些穿着羊毛大衣的孩子们停下来看着我们。 dressed in: wearing dressed in long wool coats 为过去分词作状语修饰前面的children, 可以把此句改成定语从语的形式为：Along the way children who were dressed in long wool coats stopped to look at us.
