They have a great impact on world literature as well as society, and have been studied by critics around the globe for a long time from many perspectives. Some critics studied a single work alone, and some of them compared views on love and marriage in Pride and Prejudice with those in A Dream of Red Mansions, but those studies are not in-depth and detailed, and fewer studies probe into the reasons for different endings of marriages in the two novels. This paper adopts the method of comparative analysis to study the views on love and marriage in the two novels. It is aimed to get a thoroughgoing understanding of views on love and marriage and social values under Chinese and Western different cultural backgrounds in the 18th and 19th century，which is of great literary significance and realistic value. The paper firstly analyzes marriages and views on marriage in Pride and Prejudice with those in A Dream of Red Mansions; then it probes into the similar and different views on love and marriage in the two novels.
