Methods One hundred and eight patients in our hospital who received liver resection from January 2012 to December 2013 were retrospective analyzed. All patients were divided into cut-ultrasound aspiration liver resection group (CUSA group, 53 patients) and radiofrequency liver resection group (ARF group, 55 patients). The portal vein blocking rate, operation time, intra-operative blood loss, blood transfusion rate, postoperative complications and postoperative hospitalization duration were compared between the two groups. The measurement data were analyzed using the t test and the enumeration?data using chi-square test. Results No patients died during the operation. The portal vein blocking rate, operation time, intra-operative blood loss, blood transfusion rate of the ARF group were significantly lower than that of the CUSA group (p0.05). There were no differences in post-operative complications and post-operative hospitalization duration between two groups. Conclusion Compared with the CUSA group, application of the radiofrequency coagulation device in liver resection has the following advantages: lower portal vein blocking rate, shorter operative time, less intra-operative blood loss and lower transfusion rate. However, application of the CUSA, we could make the operation field more clearly, resect the liver more precisely, reduce the liver damage during the operation. 【Key words】Liver resection；Radiofrequency device
