T he m odal tests o f a structura lm ode lw ith four-story re inforced concrete fram e are con- ducted in laborato ry. A nd the ab ility o f ident ify ing the stiffness change o f the concrete column u sing strain m ode is tested. It is show n that the uncertainty degree o f the natural frequency is very sm a l.l Com paring w ith the d isplace- m ent m ode shape, the varia tions of strain m ode shapes at different m easuring po ints w ere qu ite different. T he dam ping ratio is m ore affected by the type of the test system.
