Investigation of PCDD/Fs Indicators in Flue Gas from Waste Incinerators

Abstract In order to investigate the indicator of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofu-
rans (PCDD/Fs)a number of flue gas samples from different incinerators were collectedThe organic pollutants
such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) hexachlorobenzene (HCBz) pentachlorobenzene (PCBz)and
PCDD/Fs were analyzed in the samples. It was found that PAHs HCBz PCDD/Fs in flue gas from waste incinera-
torsIn the gas samples from hospital waste incinerator (HWI)the correlation coefficients (R2)of HCBz and PCBz

to TEQ were 0.92 and 0.95respectivelyand R between HCBz and PCBz was 0.99 The R between 23478-PCDF
and TEQ was also 0.99 in all the samples. The research of indicator plays a key role in realizing the on-line measure-
ment of PCDD/Fs.
